Welcome to the End of the World WikiaEdit

"Barbarism is the natural state of mankind. Civilization is unnatural. It is a whim of circumstance. And barbarism must always ultimately triumph."

-Robert E. Howard, "Beyond the Black River""End of the World" is a dark age setting of medieval fantasy, of the ebb and flow of empire, and the collapse and renewal of societies.

About End of the WorldEdit

"End of the World" takes place predominately in Northward, the mountainous northern reaches of the now-dissolved Malthusian Empire, which reigned over much of the known world for hundreds of years; it is a fierce land of high mountains, harsh moorlands, frigid lakes, and forbidding woodlands. It is populated by the remnants of the Malthusians, as well as the human tribes they brought under their heel; the sturdy dwarves who fear the sky, and their enchanted allies the gnomes; the secretive elves in their forest-kingdoms; and the countless menaces to fraying civilization, including the feral orcs, the formic goblinoids, quixotic kobolds, and marauding gnolls from the north.

Northward is beset by political scheming, religious fervor, feuding bloodlines, and the omnipresent struggle of law and chaos; magic and mysticism, blood and blade.
